ECOFARMS PANAMA

ECOFARMS Panama is a Panamaian grassroots non-profit organization that strives to conserve and restore the tropical rainforest of the Mamoni River Valley.
Working together with the community, we attempt to improve both the quality of life of local people and the overall health of the environment in the Mamoni River region by implementing sustainable land use management systems

Our declared goals include:

Promote tropical agriculture research;
Sustainable land use management;
Forest conservation and restoration;
Environmental education.

Conservation and reforestation

we preserve the rainforest in the Mamoni River region and reforest parts of it to restate the original landscape.

Cooperation with the local community

we work together and help the local people to enhance better living standards and more ecological farming.

Sustainable and organic agriculture

we practice organic agriculture, following the latest research results for sustainable impact on the environment.

Tropical research

we are supporting those conducting research in the rainforest to find out about the impact of agriculture, flora and fauna in the tropics and better ways to live in harmony with nature.

Right from the beginning you had the feeling of being part of the pack.
The offroad route to the farm leads through lush vegetation, at time allowing you a glimpse at Panamanian pastures and cattle grazing in front of vegetated mountain ranges.
For me being in the tropics for the first time, the beauty of the landscape and unknown sounds were simply astonishing.
